What are your most indelible Southwest Side memories? Your current favorite spots? Your dreams of what this area could become? Please join us for a creative exploration of the past, present, and future of our neighborhoods at the Mapping Our Southwest Side Zine Workshop!
At this cartography-inspired zinemaking event, we’ll each be creating a personal map of an area on the Southwest Side that is meaningful to us and transforming it into a mini zine. Zine Club Chicago: Mapping Our Southwest Side Zine Workshop is set for 6 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Archer Heights Branch of the Chicago Public Library, 5505 S. Archer Ave. Free!
This workshop will be led by Zine Club Chicago founder and Southwest Sider Cynthia E. Hanifin. We’ll provide zinemaking supplies and snacks. Feel free to bring your own maps, photos, and other materials for inspiration!
Zine newbies and longtime enthusiasts alike are always welcome at Zine Club Chicago. This free community event series is produced by Cynthia E. Hanifin. While you’re at the Archer Heights branch, please peruse our Southwest Side Zine Library, too!
