    It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That is, it’s the time Liz Mason brings her annual Zine Club Chicago year in review zinemaking workshop to Zoom. For the third year in a row, join us online for this thoughtful and fun opportunity to make a time capsule that captures your own personal 2025.

    Did you come to the past years of this ZCC workshop? If so, bring the zines you’ve made and see how things in your life have changed. And of course, happy to see you if you’ve never attended in the past. Grab your paper, a pen and some scissors, and we’ll show this year the door!

    Liz Mason, who is a founding member of Zine Club Chicago, has been self-publishing zines for almost three decades. Recent works include Caboose #15 I Was There, Awesome Things #4, Cul-de-sac #9and The Most Unwanted Zine. Her work has also been published in such publications as The Chicago Tribune, Broken Pencil, Punk Planet, The Zine Yearbook, Third Coast Review and more. She managed Quimby’s Bookstore, home of wild and weird reading material in Chicago, from 2001-2025. In January 2025 she enrolled in the Master of Science in Library & Information Science program with a specialization in Archives and Records Management at Chicago State University.   • We had a tremendous time at our Bodies on the Page Panel & Zine Release Party this month! Thank you to everyone who made the event such an inspiring and empowering experience. Our appreciation goes out to our panelists, all of the zine’s contributors, our curator Jamie Kadas, Jeremy Kitchen and the staff of the Richard J. Daley branch of the Chicago Public Library, Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center, and all of the attendees who joined in on our discussion and zinemaking activities.

  • Here’s a sneak peek at the cover of the amazing new collaborative zine Bodies on the Page 2, which will be released TOMORROW at our event curated by editor and publisher Jamie Kadas! We’ll be celebrating with a panel discussion and tabling featuring the zine’s contributing artists, community zinemaking for adults and kids, storytime for children, and snax!

    What haunts you? In this most strange and unusual of seasons, we’re teaming up with our friends at Life on Marz Community Club to explore the spectors that keep us up at night. Y’all are invited to help create a group zine on the theme The Ghosts in You.

    Our own DJ Lizography Debt will curate a playlist of haunting tracks during this event! Liz is a zinemaker, DJ at CHIRP 107.1 FM, and a founding member of Zine Club Chicago.

    We’ll provide all the zinemaking supplies and some trick-or-treat goodies, too —costumes encouraged! Just bring your creativity. Life on Marz Community Club, our favorite locally owned taproom and café space, offers awesome alcoholic, CBD, and non-alcoholic beverages from Marz Community Brewing Co. and more, plus some very fun snacks, for purchase.

    Zine Club Chicago is a mask-supportive environment; we’ll have masks available if you’d like to wear one.

  • Clau Rocha (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and divinatory practitioner working as a library professional. Their hybrid research-studio practice centers on reimagining archival spaces and queer Latinx narratives through storytelling and divination, collaging together aesthetics from both academic library spaces and familial altars. They received their MA in Visual and Critical Studies from SAIC in 2022, and was a recipient of the MAVCS Fellowship award. Their work has been featured in exhibitions such as “Contigo, Diana Solis” at Co-Prosperity, “Home Not Home” at Pilsen Arts & Community House, and in independent publications such as Stanza:Nonbinary Anthology and Mujer Manifesto.   • We’re thrilled to welcome back longtime Zine Club Chicago collaborator Jamie Kadas as curator of our second Bodies on the Page event, editor and publisher of the Bodies on the Page zine series, and moderator of our panel discussion!

    Jamie Kadas (she/her) is an artist and public high school art teacher. She has been creating indie comics for over 10 years and recently co-organized the inaugural South Side Zine Fest. Jamie’s artwork uses personal experiences to tell stories about body image, anxiety, and womanhood. Additionally, Jamie designs fat pin-ups that reimagine pop culture in a more inclusive light.     Celina Barajas (she/her) is an Animator/Illustrator living in Chicago. She studied Traditional Animation at Columbia College Chicago and has worked on over 48 animated television commercials as a clean-up animator/digital ink & painter with Calabash Animation Studio. She joined the Comic Con scene back in 2013 (C2E2, NWI CC, Chicago Zine Fest, Pocket Con, Cincinnati Comic Expo, LatinX Comix Chicago, Indiana Comic Con) and has been working on her own art and comics ever since. Her love of coffee and animals is evident in her work, which has been described as happy and playful.     Jude R Bettridge (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist, specializing in comics, zines, and fiber arts — because they are a terrific show-off. Their work is the personification of a chatty-grandma-in-a-grocery store, discussing topics such as retelling nostalgic memories, experiences with the mundanity of adult life, conversations with their cat, mental health, queer identity, religious trauma, and more.     Lee Honey (she/her) is your (self-proclaimed) favorite domme’s favorite bottom butch brat. When not curled up in bed, she’s at the drafting table drawing something horny or gay … most likely both. She’s a cartoonist and has been an active member of the Chicago kink/BDSM lifestyle since late 2019. Lee has published a number of written works and co-hosts a monthly erotic storytelling event alongside her friend B.
