We’re thrilled to welcome back longtime Zine Club Chicago collaborator Jamie Kadas as curator of our second Bodies on the Page event, editor and publisher of the Bodies on the Page zine series, and moderator of our panel discussion!
Jamie Kadas (she/her) is an artist and public high school art teacher. She has been creating indie comics for over 10 years and recently co-organized the inaugural South Side Zine Fest. Jamie’s artwork uses personal experiences to tell stories about body image, anxiety, and womanhood. Additionally, Jamie designs fat pin-ups that reimagine pop culture in a more inclusive light. These illustrations come in the form of prints, stickers, buttons, greeting cards, and even on her own handmade pottery! Follow @curvygirlcomics and jamiekadas.com
Jamie will be in conversation with panelists Clau Rocha, Katie Armentrout, Megan Kirby, and Robin Carnilius for a discussion about how these artists choose to express the joys and challenges of living in their bodies through their work.
